Point Break Sequel Announced: 100% Pure Adrenaline?

Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in Point Break

Seventeen years after one of the most quotable action flicks ever was released, Point Break is getting a sequel. “The little hand says it’s time to rock and roll!”

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jan De Bont (Speed, Twister) is set to direct, and that the sequel is called Point Break: Indo. “I know Johnny. I know you want me so bad it’s like acid in your mouth. But, not this time!”

The new film will take place 20 years after the disappearance of one of the criminal surfers (Patrick Swayze). Both the original and sequel are written by W. Peter Iliff. Plot details and possible character reprises have not been disclosed, but the film will shoot in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

“Let me tell you something, Harp. I was in this bureau while you were still popping zits on your funny face and jacking off to the lingerie section of the Sears catalog.”

If you’re inclined to quote the original Point Break (“Why be a servant to the law, when you can be it’s master?”) and want to commune with others who share your passion for Bodhi and Johnny Utah, then you have to check out Point Break Live, a touring play that casts a different audience member in Keanu’s role every night!

Check out the video from Point Break Live below for their reenactment of the climactic “Pull the Chute!” sequence, and remember: “Fear causes hesitation, and hesitation will cause your worst fears to come true.”
