Brits Get Green: Set to Unveil The Lifecar

Lifecar

The Morgan Motor Company plans to unveil the hydrogen-powered Lifecar at the Geneva Motor Show this week.

The Lifecar is a zero-emission sports car. It has a top speed of 90 mph, produces little noise, and emits only water vapour from its exhaust. How? It runs on hydrogen fuel cells.

The Lifecar was developed by an alliance of UK companies and universities and partly funded by the British government (hint hint, nudge nudge, US CONGRESS). It is a concept car — for now. A big obstacle for the car to enter the consumer market is the lack of a hydrogen re-fueling infrastructure. Morgan plans to gauge the reaction at the Motor Show and decide if (and how) it will go into production at some point in the future.

Pretty cool stuff. But I still want a Tesla Roadster.
