Germans Launch Fish Into Space

Fish in Space

… Do you need to hear anything more? I mean, that’s a hell of a geeky headline.

Okay, here are the details. The German researchers launched 72 cichlids on an unmanned rocket. Their goal: to study motion sickness (wtf?). Apparently the mechanisms related to motion sickness are similar in fish and humans, and they are studying why some people get motion sickness and others don’t. They filmed the fish on the 10-minute space flight and will now study the video.

I don’t have a copy of the spaceflight video, so instead, please enjoy one of the weirdest (and greatest) videos of all time: The Barnes & Barnes classic, “Fishheads”. Eat them up, yum!
