Blu-ray TKOs HD DVD

As I posted here last week, NetFlix and Best Buy announced that they are dropping the HD DVD format and backing Blu-ray. But there was still a glimmer of hope for Toshiba, who developed the technology, and the three studios that backed it: at least they still had Wal-Mart, the country’s biggest DVD retailer.

Not any more. Wal-Mart announced that it will stop selling the discs and players in June. Sorry, HD DVD — you have just been BetaMax-ed.
